A new study shows Trump-voting states have much higher murder rates than blue states. Donald Trump did not singlehandedly ignite ra cist violence in our country. The Republican Party, now his party, consciously turned down that path during the Nixon years when it embraced Lee Atwater’s evil Southern Strategy. But Trump licenses violence. He signals to his followers that it’s cool, it’s okay. He franchises violence.
